I worked for more than 25 years at The Birmingham News and AL.com, where I (and my staff) won numerous state, regional and national writing and design awards. In 2015, I returned to my alma mater, Auburn University, as assistant director for student media and an adjunct journalism instructor. I am now back in Birmingham, where I am executive editor of Business Alabama magazine. I’m a past president of the Society for Features Journalism, formerly the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors.
