Birmingham actress Kate Edmonds has a role in “Founders Day,” which opens in theaters on Friday.
In the slasher film, about a small town dealing with a series of killings leading up to a mayoral election, she plays the character Britt.
Edmonds, the daughter of Susan and Stewart Edmonds of Mountain Brook, was involved with Red Mountain Theatre Company, the Virginia Samford Theatre and Acting Out Academy. She also did shows while a student at Mountain Brook High School.
She has stayed busy since leaving Birmingham, appearing in Investigation Discovery’s “Homicide Hunter” series and TV movies including Lifetime’s “A Party Goes Wrong” and “Secrets on Sorority Row.” Her movie work includes “Root Letter” and “The Third Saturday in October.”
Most recently, she portrayed Hannah in two episodes of “Harlan Coben’s Shelter” on Amazon Prime.
