If you want to be in the room where it happens, tickets for the Birmingham stop of the national tour of “Hamilton” will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m.
The acclaimed Lin-Manuel Miranda musical comes to the BJCC Concert Hall as part of Broadway in Birmingham Jan. 24-Feb. 4, 2023. Tickets are $49-$160.
“Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller warns of waiting to buy tickets on the secondary market.
“It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can,” he says. “There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the Birmingham engagement should be made through broadwayinbirmingham.com.”
Tickets will be available at that website and by calling 1-800-982-2787.
“Hamilton” currently has three tours crossing the country, each named after characters from the show: The Philip Tour, The Angelica Tour and the Peggy Tour.
Birmingham will be getting the Angelica Tour, which features Edred Utomi in the title role and also stars Stephanie Umoh, Alysha Deslorieux, Josh Tower and Peter Matthew Smith. That cast could change before the Birmingham engagement.
If you don’t get tickets when they go on sale or they’re too pricey, the show will also feature 40 $10 tickets at each performance available by lottery. Details on that will be announced later.
