Birmingham’s Jordan Fisher will take over the role of Orpheus in the Tony Award-winning “Hadestown” when original cast member Reeve Carney leaves the show in November.

Carney announced his last performance would be Sunday, Nov. 19, and Fisher will take over the role on Nov. 20.

Fisher’s Broadway credits include “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Hamilton” and, most recently, the Tony Award-nominated revival of “Sweeney Todd.” He’s also appeared in the movies “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Teen Beach Movie,” won Season 25 of “Dancing with the Stars” and starred in “Rent: Live” on television.

Fisher grew up in Trussville and did a lot of theater work at Red Mountain Theatre before his professional career began.
