Jennifer Jaquess, who in a 12-year career has been director of development and managing director of Red Mountain Theatre, has been named executive director.

Keith Cromwell, executive director at RMT for 20 years, will move to the newly created position of director of institutional advancement. Roy Lightner will continue in the role of artistic director.

Here’s a video from Red Mountain Theatre with the announcement.

“Jennifer is a proven leader who knows RMT and our community,” said Janet Kavinoky, board of directors president. “This was a unanimous vote of confidence in her abilities. We know she’ll sustain the exciting trajectory Red Mountain Theatre has been on – both as a cultural asset for Birmingham and as a significant player in the regional and national theater industry.”

Cromwell said Jaquess has been a key player in RMT’s growth.

“In the last five years, we have made our arts campus a reality and significantly grown the scope of our operations,” he said. “None of this would have been possible without Jennifer by my side as managing director and, often, leading the way as we navigated a worldwide pandemic and its lingering effects.”
