Helena’s Rebecca Luker, a three-time Tony Award nominee who died in 2020, is among the 2025 inductees into the Theater Hall of Fame.

The Theater Hall of Fame honors theater professionals annually for lifetime achievement. Along with Luker, a fall ceremony at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre will honor producer Rocco Landesman, director Kenny Leon, director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall, costume designer Paul Tazewell, actor Richard Thomas and former Broadway Cares Executive Director Tom Viola.

Luker, a graduate of the University of Montevallo who performed at Birmingham Summerfeest, earned Tony nominations for “Show Boat,” “The Music Man” and “Mary Poppins” and had many other Broadway, regional and recording credits.

She died in December 2020 at age 59 after a battle with ALS.
