Broadway in Birmingham’s 2025-2026 season will include the return of “Wicked,” the Michael Jackson musical “MJ,” the Tony-winning “Kimberly Akimbo” and more.
The series announced its season and put season subscriptions on sale today.
Here’s a look at what’s planned:
“Wicked” (Sept. 3-21, 2025): The season kicks off with Stephen Schwartz’s musical that tells the story of Elphaba and Galinda, who became the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good in “The Wizard of Oz.”
“Clue” (Nov. 11-16, 2025): A comedy based on the classic board game, featuring Mrs. Peacock, Col. Mustard and other potential suspects in a murder.
“Kimberly Akimbo” (Nov. 25-30, 2025): The Tony-winning musical about a 16-year-old girl who has a rare genetic condition that makes her age rapidly. The musical is based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s play.
“MJ” (Feb. 17-22, 2026): The musical based on the life and career of Michael Jackson, featuring many songs made famous by the King of Pop.
“& Juliet” (May 19-24, 2026): A musical reimagining of the story of Romeo and Juliet, featuring contemporary pop songs as the score.
“Mrs. Doubtfire” (June 16-21, 2026): The musical, based on the 1993 comedy movie starring Robin Williams, about a divorced father who poses as a nanny to be close to his children.
Though it’s subject to change, all of the tours on the season except “Mrs. Doubtfire” are Equity tours, meaning the actors and stage managers are members of Actors’ Equity Association.
All shows will be presented at the BJCC Concert Hall.
